Despite winning 13 games in 2025, Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen is flabbergasted by how little coverage his team has received in the current offseason. However, Coen has managed to use that to his advantage.

Speaking with hosts Brent Martineau and Austen Lane on the 1010XL Jaguars Radio show ‘The Hunt,’ Coen revealed that whenever he browses NFL websites, he comes across tons of pictures of Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams than coverage of his team.

I look at the NFL website, and see if there’s anything on the Jaguars. I think I’ll see 40 pictures of Caleb Williams. And nothing on us! It’s beautiful.

Coen doesn’t view this as a disadvantage. In fact, he believes it’s a great tool for boosting his players’ morale.

I said to the staff the other day, I go ‘Guys, this is the best part of coaching the Jacksonville Jaguars, you don’t have to make up telling your players stuff,’ you don’t have to make up the fire.

The Jaguars appointed an inexperienced Coen as head coach ahead of the 2025 season. Despite being part of one of the so-called weaker divisions in the AFC, experts predicted the Jaguars to have a bad year. The Jags shattered all preconceived expectations by winning 13 games.

The Jags recorded wins over the Houston Texans, the Kansas City Chiefs, the San Francisco 49ers, the Los Angeles Chargers, the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos.

In the knockout stages, Coen’s Jags pushed the Buffalo Bills to their limits. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw 3 touchdowns, two interceptions, and 207 yards while Parker Washington caught 7 passes for 107 yards and scored a touchdown. In reply, the Bills QB Josh Allen threw one and rushed for two touchdowns to secure a narrow three-point victory for the AFC East franchise.

Due to the surprising run, Coen was in the running for the best coach of the year award. According to the Associated Press, Coen received 16 first-place votes, but it wasn’t enough for him to earn the crown. That honor went to the Patriots coach Mike Vrabel, while Super Bowl winner Mike Macdonald finished second in the voting.

Liam Coen sends warning to rest of the NFL

The Jaguars ranked seventh from the bottom in total points scored a year before they poached Coen from the Buccaneers, where he was the offensive coordinator. A year later, the Jags scored the sixth most points, just seven fewer than both the Bills and the Detroit Lions.

Lawrence completed 341 passes for 4007 yards, threw a career-high 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The 2023 sixth-round draft pick, Parker Washington, led the Jaguars with 847 yards and 5 touchdowns. Running back Travis Etienne recorded 1,300+ all-purpose yards and scored 13 combined touchdowns in his final year in Jacksonville.

According to FOX Sports metrics, the Jaguars have +3000 odds to win Super Bowl 61 at LA’s SoFi Stadium in February 2027. Coach Coen wants to make that a reality.

We know we left some meat on the bone at the end of the year. You are playing good football, to go out not playing your best football and that’s the last time we competed, so that taste is absolutely still in your mouth. It is.

The Jaguars play three pre-season friendlies against the Saints, Panthers and the Buccaneers before hosting the Browns at home in week one.
