Colorado Buffaloes and UCF Knights stitched several memorable moments on Saturday night. While Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter dominated the game, others, like running back Micah Welch and Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig in defense, had a great outing as well.

Craig even snuck in a reel of his own in the fourth quarter. The game was in the bag for Colorado as they led the Knights 41-21 with just over 5 minutes of ball game left.

UCF’s quarterback, KJ Jefferson, faked a pass to his running back on 3rd and 3 and ran with the ball. However, two Colorado players jumped in and forced a fumble, which was picked up by Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig.

Although the UCF players tried to stop the senior safety, he ran 93 yards for a fumble return touchdown. The touchdown increased Colorado’s lead to 47.

Colorado Buffaloes equal one of their best starts to a college football season

Even though the Buffs were miles away from their home, several big-name celebrities turned up to watch the Sanders boys in action. From Cam Newton and Druski to DJ Khaled, they only wanted one thing—a Colorado win.

Shedeur Sanders shrugged off Newton in the pre-game, but that residue was washed away when he ended UCF’s winning start to the season. The game ended with a 48-21 blowout, once more proving coach Prime’s words that they joined the Big 12 to win the conference.

The Buffs did not trail for once in the night. Sanders ended the game with 28/35 for 290 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Travis Hunter had 9 catches for 89 yards and 1 touchdown, along with 1 interception, while Will Shephard caught 4 passes for 99 yards and 1 touchdown.

Meanwhile, running back Micah Welch saw his snaps limited as Sanders spread time equally to other rushers as well. Welch recorded 5 receptions for 26 yards and 1 touchdown. Isaiah Augustave rushed 4 times for 39 yards, while Dallan Hayden had the most carries with 11 for 33 yards. Deion Sanders spoke highly of his players’ performance against UCF.

They worked their butts off this week. It’s easier to teach; it’s easier to educate. I am so proud of these young men. You have no idea. I am at a loss for words; I really am.

Deion Sanders said.

The victory over UCF equaled the Colorado Buffaloes’ best start (4-1) to a season since 2020. They can relax and enjoy the win, going into their bye week before facing the #23 Kansas State Wildcats, on October 12.
