CM Punk Chokes up While Talking About the Passing of His Beloved Pet Larry
CM Punk was understandably devastated while recalling the unfortunate passing of Larry.

Last year, CM Punk and AJ Lee suffered a devastating loss in the form of their beloved pet Larry crossing the rainbow bridge. ‘The Best in the World’ choked up talking about it on season 3 of WWE Unreal. Punk revealed that Larry already had a case of bite registered against him when he and AJ rescued the dog in 2014.
Punk and Lee were warned that the little creature would have to be taken down by law if Larry bit someone again, which is why the ‘Second City Saint’ had always been really protective of Larry. The 47-year-old described his deceased pet as a misfit who needed to find his people, which were none other than CM Punk and his wife.
AJ Lee mentioned that she and Punk don’t have kids or anyone else to call family. However, Larry filled that void for the couple for over a decade. ‘The Crazy Chick’ said Larry’s passing felt like the demise of a family member. Lee added that as her pet grew older, she became his emotional support human.
The fans noticed CM Punk sporting a “Larry’s Dad” jacket during his entrance at Survivor Series last year. He asked for the patch to be added to his attire at the very last minute as Punk wanted to feel Larry’s presence out there with him that day. One could visibly see Punk trying so hard not to break down completely on camera as he said it.

When Punk feuded with Roman Reigns en route to this year’s WrestleMania, a bunch of fans thought that WWE would use Larry’s demise to add more spice to the Punk/Reigns feud. However, even after the ‘Second City Saint’ disrespectfully brought up The OTC’s deceased father during one of their promos, Reigns didn’t retort with the Larry cheap shot.
A report via BodySlam revealed that Reigns was supposed to use it against Punk. However, WWE ultimately dropped the plan with no specified reason. Some thought it was too sensitive a subject for Punk to allow it, while others noted that Reigns hasn’t historically been high on stooping to such lows against his opponents just to get a cheap pop.
One of Punk’s most fierce WWE rivals in Drew McIntyre understood the amount of grieving that Punk must’ve gone through by losing Larry as the Scot too lost his beloved cat Chez earlier this year. ‘The Scottish Warrior’ said on Chris Van Vliet‘s podcast that he’d never make fun of the ‘Best in the World’ aiming a dig at Larry.
CM Punk decided to honor John Cena similar to what the latter and Batista did with Hulk Hogan
It was truly fitting that CM Punk came up with the idea of putting both world titles on his great rival John Cena‘s shoulders at Saturday Night’s Main Event last December. As revealed by Punk on WWE Unreal, someone sent him a clip of John Cena and Dave Bautista honoring Hulk Hogan by placing their respective world title belts on ‘The Hulkster’ back circa 2005.

‘The Voice of the Voiceless’ watched it the day of Cena’s final match in WWE, and that’s how he came up with the idea of replicating that moment with Cena later on. Punk pulled Cody Rhodes aside and smartened him up on what he was thinking. ‘The QB1’ said he was a little frustrated over the fact that the idea didn’t cross his mind first.

Later that night after Cena suffered a loss at the hands of Gunther, Punk and Rhodes entered the ring. Before doing the needful, Punk informed Cena what they were about to do, and ‘The Cenation Leader’ didn’t have any problem with that. The former AEW star told Cena that he loved him, and the latter responded by telling Punk and Rhodes he loved them both.
