South Zone’s T Ravi Teja complained of Jaiswal’s constant sledging, for he was standing close to the batter. He was having a verbal spat with Jaiswal in the 50th over before the umpire intervened and decided to have a word with Rahane.

Rahane then had a word with the young Jaiswal but the latter still kept on jeering at Teja. It was a rare act- Rahane finally decided to send Jaiswal off the field. Jaiswal walked away muttering something. Satyajeet Bachhav came out as a substitute for him. Jaiswal returned after being away for seven overs.

Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed a double century in the second innings, helping his side set up a huge score. He was adjudged the Player of the Match after West Indies won the final by 294 runs.

After the match he said how he is focusing on the process and looks to keep going forward. He also spoke about his taking advice from senior players- Ajinkya Rahane and Shreyas Iyer.

When Rahane was asked about the incident, he said: “You have to follow rules and respect the game, your opponents and the umpires. That’s the way I have always played my cricket and I will continue to do so. There are certain things you must follow on the field, if you don’t, you get off the field. This is my mantra.”
