Cricket is like religion in India and the greatest cricketers are considered God. They get emotional after seeing their favorite players entering the stadium to play for other tournaments after retiring from international cricket. These players get so much respect for their contribution to the game.
An incident caught the eyes of the fans during the opening ceremony of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday (March 31) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Ahead of the season opener between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT), celebrities set the stadium on fire with their performances.
Popular playback singer Arijit Singh and actresses Tamannaah Bhatia and Rashmika Mandanna were the star performers. While fans enjoyed Tamannaah and Mandanna’s dances, before that, they loved Arijit’s melodious voice. Even CSK captain MS Dhoni was seen grooving to his songs at one point. The video caught the eyes of the fans and quickly went viral on social media.

Speaking of the game, CSK faced upset in their campaign opener. When the Yellow jersey were asked to bat first, they put on a challenging 178/7 on the scoreboard, courtesy of Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 92 off 50.
But the Titans chased it down on the back of Shubman Gill’s half-century and cameos from Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia. When Gill was at the crease, Gujarat were relaxed but after his dismissal, CSK got the upper hand and restricted GT’s quick run flow.
But Vijay Shankar’s dismissal saw Rashid Khan entering the ground. He send the ball over the boundary rope on the very first ball he faced in the penultimate over.
On the next ball, he scored a boundary and simultaneously brought GT back to the game. But it was Rahul Tewatia who went for the winning run when he scored the single run but before that, he smashed a six and a four off two consecutive balls to take GT past the target.
