Danhausen could make his WWE PLE in-ring debut at Backlash should he find someone to partner him against The Miz and Kit Wilson. The former AEW star got double-crossed by Miz on SmackDown this past Friday. ‘The A-Lister’ eventually sided with Wilson after faking a change of heart with the fan-favorite star.

Wilson and Miz laid waste to a helpless Danhausen, which prompted the latter to approach GM Nick Aldis and demand a match against them. The general manager of SmackDown told the 35-year-old wrestler that the match will be his if he finds a partner to compete with at Backlash. In his pursuit of securing one, Danhausen has resorted to the retired legends of WWE.

The man who claims to be Very Nice, Very Evil tagged Shawn Michaels, Triple H, The Undertaker, AJ Styles, John Cena, Steve Austin, and more for them to consider coming out of retirement and teaming up with him in exchange for 400 human dollars. Danhausen also clarified that he wouldn’t cover the gas and transportation expenses for whoever agrees to his offer.

He quipped that it’s a good opportunity to be seen, though. The Miz clapped back at the aforementioned post by reminding his rival that he took away $40,000 of his money and not just $400. It happened during a backstage segment on SmackDown when Miz and his mentee Wilson failed to trap the self-proclaimed ‘New GOAT’.

The superstar with face paint gleefully retrieved forty thousand dollars in cash from the briefcase that was designed to trick him. When Miz and Wilson tested it themselves, the said briefcase blasted powder on their faces. Danhausen has been a thorn in Miz’s side since after his WWE arrival.

He crashed Miz’s wedding vows renewal with Maryse just before WrestleMania, and they continued their dynamic during the WWE Hall of Fame red carpet event too. The storyline involving Danhausen causing troubles for Miz and Wilson being sprinkled into the mix has arguably been the most entertaining aspect about an otherwise lackluster product that SmackDown is putting out on Fridays.

The stars involved in this feud have finally earned a spot on a WWE PLE. The match, however, is contingent on Danhausen securing a partner. There is tons of speculation about who that could possibly be. Some believe CM Punk might bail him out from it. The two are close friends in real life, and Punk reportedly had some influence in bringing the self-professed WWE legend to where he’s at right now.

‘The Best in the World’ was last seen on Raw after WrestleMania, where he teased going after Cody Rhodes‘ Undisputed WWE title. He doesn’t have a definite direction at the moment and could use this temporary void to help Danhausen on a one-off deal at Backlash. Other names rumored for the cause include Joe Hendry and Mr. Iguana.

Danhausen’s WWE success speaks for itself

Danhausen has been a resounding success for WWE thus far. He was reported to be the third-best in-stadium merchandise selling superstar for the company at WrestleMania 42. Only CM Punk and Cody Rhodes were above him in that regard.

What’s more fascinating is Danhausen making it to that elite list without having actually wrestled at the Show of Shows while Punk and Rhodes were the world champions heading into it. The Detroit native even had an in-ring segment with John Cena at WrestleMania.

It also featured The Miz and Kit Wilson and some mini Danhausens that took out Miz and Wilson after they had talked enough trash for the evening. The former AEW star got his hand raised by Cena in his first-ever WrestleMania moment.
