Dak Prescott put himself in a precarious position after a minor spat with an alleged Dallas Cowboys employee inside the AT&T Stadium tunnel. The star quarterback caught a lot of flak when a video of the altercation went viral.

Radio host, political commentator, and avid football fan John Ziegler uploaded a video of an unnamed individual who claimed that he was the one who shouted “embarrassing” at Prescott on Thursday night. Despite taking accountability for his actions, the Cowboys fired him the next day.

Dak Prescott apparently did indeed get a (black) Cowboys employee fired over this minor incident. And the guy handled it like a champ, making a very solid point about Prescott…

Ziegler captioned the video

However, FOX Sports had already established that the Cowboys never employed the man in question. In fact, it was a car service driver.

Ziegler later admitted that the video could be fraudulent to make Prescott and the Cowboys look bad.

Dak Prescott gave his honest opinion about the “embarrassing” tunnel exchange

The Cowboys went 2-2 from their opening four games. This stretch included losses to NFC East rival, the New York Giants, and the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil.

In Week four, the Cowboys picked up a morale-boosting victory over the Houston Texans. However, within a span of four days, they hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Arlington.

The Bucs arrived with a 0-4 record, and oddsmakers viewed them as 8.5-point underdogs. The Bucs’ defense forced three turnovers—two interceptions and a fumble recovery. They outgained the Cowboys by over 190 yards on the ground. It finished 24-16.

Dak Prescott completed 24 of 42 passes for 316 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions. After the final whistle, he was heading back to the locker room when someone said, “embarrassing” performance at the veteran signal caller.

Prescott gave him an extended side-eye and even pointed at him before leaving. Ironically, dozens of reporters with cameras couldn’t film the man who said those words. Later, the QB gave his honest opinion about the exchange.

When he said it, I just happened to look at him, and at that point, he looked away. When I turned my head back, he said something else. And so that’s the part that, just as a man or as just a person, feel free to speak your mind… Just speak it. Don’t cower away from the reaction that you’re going to get. And so, if you’re saying it’s embarrassing, say it’s embarrassing. If you’re saying it to me, then say it to me. Don’t go back on it

Analyst called out Dak Prescott for his “embarrassing” moment

The Cowboys missed the playoffs last season for the second consecutive year. However, Prescott led the league with 404 completions for 4552 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

He has started the 2026 season on the front foot even though the Cowboys are 2-3. He has thrown 129 completions (67.2%) for 1381 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions.

The loss to the Buccaneers was arguably the ugliest defeat of the year for Prescott and Dallas. To make matters worse, the post-game spat in the tunnel painted a bleak picture of a fanbase that hasn’t tasted Super Bowl glory for three decades.

Rob Parker blasted Prescott for his lame reaction on a recent segment of The Odd Couple on FOX Radio.

Dak [Prescott] is a rat. [Dak] is a rat. If he really had an issue, he could have stepped to the dude. You know what Dak did? He went and told another Cowboys employee, who then went back to talk to the guy. That’s what makes Dak the rat. If you’re going to say ’embarrassing,’ you should own it.

Next week, the Cowboys travel to Wisconsin to play the Green Bay Packers. He is 1-3-1 against the Packers and 1-1 at Lambeau Field.

Prescott, a 4x Pro Bowler, is in the third year of his four-year, $240 million contract. Despite earning $60 million/year, he has failed to deliver a postseason win since the extension.
