Jalen Hurts led the Philadelphia Eagles to a victory in the 2024-25 NFL season. However, his recent performances have attracted major criticism from experts. But no one could have guessed that the Eagles’ own social media team would take a dig at the veteran signal-caller.
Former NFL cornerback Domonique Foxworth called out the Eagles’ social media team for taking an unnecessary cheap shot at their franchise quarterback.
We’re getting them numbers up. Congratulations for throwing your man under the bus to get it done. And I’m sure he’s not hurt. He doesn’t even care. He’s not thinking about it. He’s fine.
Domonique Foxworth said on his namesake show
“They knew how to get them numbers up.”

During last week’s training camp, Hurts threw an interception to DB Quinyon Mitchell. The Eagles’ official Twitter account uploaded a short clip of the play. The clip went viral within a few hours. The clip has received more than 17 million views since then.

Hurts is a 3x Pro Bowler and has an All-Pro season under his belt. In the 2024-25 Super Bowl, he accumulated the most points in the final’s history (tied with former Patriots running back James White) to win the match MVP and his first ring.

The Eagles relied heavily on the run game orchestrated by Saquon Barkley during their Super Bowl campaign. However, other teams quickly figured out methods to nullify Barkley’s runs, leaving the Eagles to rely on Jalen Hurts and his distribution. Receivers demanded more of the ball, but Hurts just couldn’t deliver. The Eagles won the NFC East and qualified for the wildcard round, where they were defeated by the San Francisco 49ers.
AJ Brown had had enough and forced his way out of Philly. Many pointed fingers at Hurts for the breakup. Naturally, his every move is being scrutinized by experts and the media. The 17 million+ views on the interception clip are merely the trailer for what’s in store for Hurts in the new season.
There is not another quarterback in the NFL that if they threw a pick in practice and it got posted on their social media that it would get that many views and/or attention. [A] small part of me can respect and appreciate [it] because Jalen hasn’t and doesn’t throw the ball over the middle of the field a ton and it’s a ball that gets thrown over the middle of the field and it’s a pick… But the fact that this has become such a big deal when we are one season removed from him winning Super Bowl MVP is outrageous.

That being said, Orlovsky also refrained from favoring Hurts in his latest QB-traits list. According to Orlovsky, among the seven traits he values in quarterbacks, Hurts doesn’t rank in the top 10 for these: arm strength, ball placement, mechanics, pocket presence, and second-reaction.
Orlovsky believes Hurts is a great “problem solver” and is among the best when it comes to “decision-making with the football.”
Hurts, drafted 53rd overall, has accumulated a 57-25 record in the regular season. He has thrown 1542 completions for 17,891 yards, 110 touchdowns, and 45 interceptions.
