The excitement at Tuscaloosa was through the roof, not only because #4 Georgia was coming to play against #2 Alabama, but also the highly anticipated arrival of former president Donald Trump. Even before the two teams finished their week 3 matches, Trump’s office notified that he would be present at the game on Saturday, September 28.

As the fans began to gather inside the Bryant Denny Stadium in Texas, they noticed increased security in and around the premises. Just before the kickoff, Donald Trump arrived with his wife, Melania Trump, and his myriad of security details, hoping to avoid another assassination attempt.

A video surfaced on social media that showed a group of Bama fans queueing near the entrance of the stadium’s VIP section. One of Trump’s guards handed him a packet from the hole-in-the-wall food joint. The Republican leader then passed it on to his followers.

He gave away several packets and even chatted with a few before heading off to the luxury suite to join his wife.

Alabama cheers loudly for Donald Trump

As the kick-off time approached, Trump took his place inside the VIP box. The jumbotron flashed with the 78-year-old and Melania waving their hands to the 101,000 fans inside the venue.

The Bama student group began chanting Donald Trump’s name with deafening cheers from all corners. Conservative media mouthpiece Benny Johnson sat very close to Trump’s suite and uploaded a video documenting the noise reverberating in the premises.

A blockbuster finish to the Alabama-Georgia game

The crowd continued to roar as the referee signaled the start of the game. This was the first time the Crimson Tide were facing the Bulldogs after legendary head coach Nick Saban stepped down in the off-season.

Bama came out roaring as quarterback Jalen Milroe rushed, threw, and set up touchdowns, which gave them a 28-0 lead after just twenty minutes of play.

First Milroe walked in from 7 yards, then found Jam Miller for 16 yards and completed the first quarter by handing the ball off to Geremie Bernard for a 7-yard run before the 21-year-old carried the ball for 36 yards, punching home his second rushing touchdown of the night.

Georgia saved some face right before the break, through Trever Etienne for a 7-yard run, and quarterback Carson Beck added to the Bulldogs’ total by connecting with Arian Smith for a 12-yard TD.

Georgia crawled back into the game as Donald Trump watched from his box. Beck threw one to Lawson Luckie and then found Dillon Bell on back-to-back drives. First, set him up for a 3-yard run and then connected with a 67-yard dime to take a shocking one-point lead, silencing the Bama fans.

Despite the effort, Trump witnessed a Bama victory as Milroe launched a 75-yard pass to rookie Ryan Williams, securing a 41-34 win for the Crimson Tide. Milroe ended the game with 27/33 for 374 yards (126.3 QBR), 2 passing and 2 rushing touchdowns, and 1 interception. Beck did not have a good game even though they almost snatched the victory. He completed 27/50 for 439 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions (88.30 QBR).
