Way to get a ride like Epona in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
There is only one exclusive way for getting your hand on this sweet ride in the game and that is through the use of amiibos to unlock the horse. Nintendo produced figurines called amiibos. They are centered on a variety of intellectual properties and characters from the work of the renowned Japanese game developer. In this instance, Epona can only be unlocked via a Link amiibo. Alternatives include the corresponding amiibo cards.
For this purpose, any Nintendo games like Super Mario Bros Link or Twilight Princess Link will also be helpful. For this to work, players need to get a quest in the game called Ukoh Shrine, which comes early in the main quest of the Tears of the Kingdom. This will later be helpful because players will need to unlock the amiibo scanning feature in the game. Eventually, this will add to the ability wheel. This will help players to open a window for using the amiibo scanning in Tears of the Kingdom. This is done by holding down the L key in the game.
Now let’s take a look at the steps to scan the amiibo in Tears of the Kingdom
- First, click on the amiibo function which is present in the ability wheel.
- This will initiate a prompt for the needed amiibo which is beside the white target on the ground. This is also where the reward will spawn.
- Scan the previously used Super Mario Bros or Twilight Princess Link amiibo
- After following all the given steps, Epona will spawn near the target specified.
Players will have to tame Epona before being able to ride her. After taming Epona players will have to register her at one of the nearby stables. This will enable Link to summon her at any stable throughout the game. The players who had access to Epona in Breath of the Wild, will directly get access to their previous data progress and retain control of Epona if they previously had it in progress data.
So now get into the Hyrule and find yourself the stylish ride from Epona the horse in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom!
