Valorant tier list: All duelist agents ranked from worst to best
(credits: Riot Games)
Valorant, Riot Games‘ first first-person shooter, has been a major commercial success. After three years after the game’s introduction, a substantial player base has developed. The immersive experience and distinctive mechanics of Valorant have contributed significantly to its popularity. Additionally, the developers work tirelessly to improve and enhance the player experience with each new update. Furthermore, agents in Valorant, especially Duelist agents, are really diverse, too!
Because of its uniqueness, Valorant has dominated the FPS competitive video games industry. The playable characters in the game, known as agents, are also its finest unique aspect. Valorant employs its agents in a manner that is distinct from that of every other game. These agents all have their own unique characteristics and roles, and players use different playstyles with all of them.
Furthermore, every game that has a large pool of playable characters has some who are really great, while some not so much. And Valorant is no exception to this. The huge pool of agents in the game has given birth to some of the best agents in the fray, while some being entirely useless! Moreover, one of the most used agent roles in Valorant, the Duelist role, has some pretty sick entries. With the roster expanding recently after the announcement of ISO, the rank list of duelist agent in Valorant have been updated, too!

Worst to Best Duelist agent in Valorant
Valorant’s agent pool is vast. Furthermore, the different roles in the agent selection give the game variety and flexibility. And the most played agent role in the game is the duelist role. Many Valorant pro players utilized the duelist role during the VCT 2023, which gave fans some sick plays! However, the community is still hinged over which duelist is the best and who’s the worst!
Yoru
Riot Games released Yoru in patch 2.0, and since then, this duelist agent has gained a lot of love. However, the agent doesn’t perform quite well in high elos. One of the best ways of utilizing Yoru backstabbing opponents with his teleportation ability, Gatecrash.
Also, the other strategy is tricking opponents with the clone ability, Fakeout. But both these strategies have become really fleshed out, and opponents are always on their guard when Yoru is on the other team. Although sometimes these strategies may work, that’s really uncommon now.
Neon
Neon is currently the game’s latest duelist agent. Moreover, there have been some really great Neon plays in Valorant, but the constant nerfs have totally butchered this agent! Former OpTic Gaming player Victor really dominated the game with Neon, but that was all pre-nerfs.
Neon’s energy bar depletion is really fast now, while the refilling remains atrociously slow. Moreover, her high Elo usage is really less compared to lower-tier ranked matches. This makes Neon the second less performing duelist agent in Valorant!
Pheonix
One of the original and beta phase agents of Valorant, Pheonix is a phenomenal duelist agent. Moreover, Evil Geniuses’ Boostio has given fans some really sick Phenoix strategies and playstyles. But the agent still falls short of other ones in the game. Pheonix’s flash ability is really great for getting into firefights, but the short range of the flash makes it really lacking in terms of other flashes.
Furthermore, Pheonix, during his ult, is really vulnerable to backstabbing, making the agent sometimes a liability for the player and the team both. This puts Phenox quite closer to the worst scale rather than the best among Valorant’s duelist agents.
ISO
ISO is game’s upcoming new duelist agent. Furthermore, the game is getting a new duelist agent after a long while. ISO’s abilities are really unique and useful for aggressive plays, to outsmart and dominate opponents! Although the agent is not out yet, there aren’t that many exceptional plays yet.
However, from what the pro players have experienced playing ISO, the agent can be utilized pretty effectively. His nigh-immortal primary ability and the sick ult make this duelist agent one of the badass agents of Valorant.
Reyna
Added in one of the first patches right after the game launch, Reyna is one dependable agent! Moreover, ScreaM has shown fans during the VCT that Reyna can be an exceptional agent. Her flash ability, Leer, and Dismiss are really great combos for a successful hit-and-run tactic. However, the agent doesn’t do that well on higher Elos.
But experienced players still dominate the battlefield with her. Furthermore, her Ult, Empress, adds a whole different punch to the game that many players love. Reyna is an exceptional duelist agent, with a lot of sick strategies; however, the other two remaining agents are in a league of their own.
Raze
One of the three beta-phase duelist agents, Raze is a powerhouse. Her Ult, ShowStopper is one mean ability that punishes any opponent when timed right! Moreover, the best utilization of this agent shines after polishing movement mechanics. Relying heavily on movements and corner-clearing abilities, Raze is among the top contenders on this list.
Moreover, this agent is one of the few duelist agents whose every ability is damaging to the enemies, and sometimes even allies. Raze is definitely one of the best duelist agents present in the game and works well on every rank and Elo.
Jett
The last of the beta phase agents, Jett is the best duelist agent of Valorant. Jett is the most mobile agent in the game and is the best of the best in hit-and-run playstyle. Pros like Aspas have proven during the VCT 2023, how well Jett can be used to dominate enemies and win games! Jett’s Tailwind and passive ability, Drift makes this agent really versatile and intimidating.
Jett has many strategies that players can use and this shows how flexible of a duelist agent she is. Although mastering this agent can be a pain and also a learning curve, those experienced with this agent can show how much of a menace they can create!
All these duelist agent plays still depend on the players. Even the worst agents can dominate the battlefield if used by a really experienced player. Eventually, it’s all about self-capability and how well you can execute strategies. Many maps like Lotus and Sunset are so diverse that even some great duelist agents can fare behind other roles. However, mastering those shortcomings is what will make you a good duelist player!
