Aston Martin team principal Mike Krack has praised the meteoric rise of McLaren this season. The Woking-based team has notched stellar results to take the lead from Red Bull in the Constructors’ Championship.

McLaren has secured five wins and 18 podiums so far this year. The Papayas have been spot on with their upgrades, which have made the MCL38 the fastest car on the grid.

Mike Krack has therefore urged his team to look at the championship leaders to make improvements on their own car. He highlighted specific upgrades on the MCL38 and their contributions to the betterment of the car.

If you compare the pace, and you see when have they [McLaren] made a step, and you can correlate that with some upgrades that are declared as we never have the full picture, there is some correlation where you can say, ‘okay, this is what it has been changed, and what has it potentially done’. When you see, for example, the Zandvoort upgrade… I think it would be foolish not to look at it

Mike Krack said

While McLaren has gone from strength to strength, Aston Martin has only secured 86 points so far this season. They will now focus on the car of the 2025 season and hope to get going right from the start.

Fernando Alonso has reiterated his interest in the pinnacle of motorsport. The Spaniard has stated that winning a third world championship title is his first and foremost priority right now.

I’m very, very focused [on] Formula 1 now. For the next two or three years, I want to win the third world title. This is my first and only priority at the moment.

Fernando Alonso said in an event organized by Aston Martin’s sponsor Cognizant

Alonso has been dissatisfied with the developments of AMR24 this season, securing only 62 points so far. He was phenomenal during the first half of the previous season and, with the right improvements to the car, will be looking to hit the ground running in 2025.
