Formula One and TV advertisements are a match made in heaven for marketing and advertising executives. Driver contracts are packed with sponsor agreements and other deals. Driver endorsements are gaining popularity as Formula One’s influence has spread worldwide. Charles Leclerc recently starred in a TV commercial for U-Power on 28 May.
The driver posted the advertisement on his social media along with U-Power. The ‘A-team’, which includes the Ferrari driver, is shown helping a group of people with a broken-down vehicle essential for their daily work. Charles Leclerc and his group fix the problem in record time, and the advertisement concludes.
However, since his stint with Ferrari, Charles Leclerc has been a part of many television commercials. In 2020 Leclerc was announced as the brand ambassador for Giorgio Armani and featured in ads for the fashion company as well. However, the Shell advertisement where he starred and teammate Carlos Sainz has been a fan favorite for its ‘hostage’ setting.
Leclerc’s 2022 championship rival also featured in Bybit X Oracle Red Bull Racing film advertisement. The advertisement includes Max Verstappen driving on the moon. Sergio Perez, who also features in this commercial, requests something ‘out of this world.’ The ad then transitions into Verstappen driving his RB18 on the moon. Due to their popularity on track, Leclerc and Verstappen have become quite influential personalities.
Charles Leclerc falls short of expectations as the 2023 season continues to disappoint

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc entered the 2023 season with high expectations. Fans were all ready to see the Scuderia back in the title fight. However, luck has not been on Leclerc’s side. After only one podium seven races into the season, Charles sits in P7 in the standings behind his teammate Carlos Sainz in P6.
Reliability issues saw Leclerc DNF at the Bahrain Grand Prix, where he was running in P3. In Jeddah, the Ferrari driver took a 10-place grid penalty finishing in P7 due to poor reliability. The Australian GP didn’t last too long for the Monegasque, as a trip to the gravel traps ended his race early. After being fresh out of a podium at Baku, Leclerc spun at the Miami qualifying finish compromising his race.
Monaco, Charles’ home race, yet again ended in heartbreak for the hometown hero. The team’s strategic mess resulted in a 3-place penalty for him. The Spanish Grand Prix was another unfortunate race for Leclerc, where he finished outside the points. Meanwhile, former rival Red Bull has dominated the F1 scene, winning all the races so far.
