Former F1 world champion, Damon Hill applauded Lewis Hamilton after his fairytale win at Silverstone for the ninth time in his career. Hamilton crossed the checkered flag after starting P2 on the grid behind his teammate George Russell, who took pole for the Silver Arrows.
Lewis Hamilton has endured a tough spell on track since he narrowly missed out on an eighth championship title in 2021. The 39-year-old has been on the podium on a few occasions but has not been a potent threat to the likes of Red Bull, who have been dominant in the past couple of seasons.

Damon Hill therefore deemed Hamilton as one of the GOATs for his tireless persistence and longevity in the sport after his first win in 945 days. Hill claimed that the 39-year-old put all his blood, sweat, and tears into winning this race after a difficult spell in F1.
I feel so privileged to have seen this story from very early days. Today was the culmination of a lot of blood sweat and tears. Amazing. So happy. What a great thing to see the return of the GOAT. Well done Dad.Damon Hill after Lewis Hamilton’s race victory via X

Mercedes end the infamous triple header of 2024 with two consecutive wins, with George Russell triumphing in Spielberg and Lewis Hamilton winning in Silverstone. The German team will look to carry forward this momentum to the remaining races to make up for their poor performances.
Toto Wolff claims Mercedes ‘won by merit’ at the British Grand Prix
Mercedes team principal, Toto Wolff applauded his team for their persistence and hard work after securing back-to-back wins in F1. Wolff claimed that his outfit dominated throughout the changing weather conditions in Silverstone to take home the win against all odds.

This time around on real pace. We were quick in all conditions, Lando at one point. We have won on merit. We have finally unlocked performance and speed since Imola, and we are on a role.Toto Wolff said after the British Grand Prix

Toto Wolff asserted that the silver arrows have been on an improving trend since their upgrades in Imola. Wolff further claimed that Lando Norris was a quicker force than them for a short period, but was not able to surpass the resilient force of the German team in the race.
Lando Norris finished the 52-lap race in P3 after a hard-fought battle against Max Verstappen, who overtook the British driver during the closing stages. Toto Wolff has thereafter said that Mercedes is on a roll and will be keen on keeping the same pace against the likes of McLaren and Red Bull, who currently lead the title race this campaign.
