“Nice job, F2 team” – Fans target Mercedes as James Allison admits to making a mistake that led to Lewis Hamilton’s ’embarrassing’ disqualification
Fans have caused an uprising on social media as Mercedes somewhat accepted to committing an illegal act in Austin.

Lewis Hamilton had a less than appreciable outing at Texas for the United States Grand Prix. Even though his Mercedes showed great speed and he finished second in the race right ahead of fellow Britisher Lando Norris, his podium win was snatched away by the FIA. During a sudden check on some of the selected cars that included Lewis’ W14, the stewards found some disparities with the planks. And on the ground of disobeying the regulations put forward by the FIA ahead of the race, Hamilton and Leclerc was disqualified.
While the news of Lewis Hamilton‘s podium being cancelled was devastating for his fans, the 7-time World Champion tried to make light of the incident by sharing a meme of him and Charles on Instagram. He captioned it as “mood” and even tagged his fellow driver who also got the boot from the United States GP because of the FIA scrutiny. But now, he has spoken out in protest against the stewards targeting only a few drivers during their checks.
Lewis Hamilton has not expressed any dissatisfaction with the FIA stewards’ rulings. But he said that there were more cars on the grid that were deserving of a punishment like his. On the other hand, James Allison of the Mercedes F1 team said it was embarrassing to see Lewis get disqualified.

Fans demand Mercedes should apologize to Lewis Hamilton for sabotaging his United States GP
Lewis Hamilton is the person to hold the record for the most number of victories at the United States GP. Yet, last Sunday, he was the one who got disqualified from the Texas race because of a technical error that the FIA stewards spotted in his car. Then, Mercedes’ Technical Director explained that their team had indeed erred in making the W14 too low to pass the FIA-establish benchmark.
The livid fans then claimed on X that it was Mercedes’ oversight that led to Lewis Hamilton losing out on a podium place. They said–
On the other hand, it must be remembered that James Allison also had some good news to share after the United States GP. He said that Mercedes got some positive results from their outing that might eventually help them solidify their components for the 2024 Championship. It remains to be seen if Mercedes indeed manage to live up to the hype Allison is already creating with his words, or if their plan falls through somewhere in the middle.
