Lewis Hamilton continues to remain the most successful driver on the Formula 1 grid amidst Max Verstappen‘s meteoric rise in performance. Verstappen likely to snatch multiple records from Hamilton in the coming seasons. Hence, amidst the ongoing tussle for the better driver between the two, Ex-F1 driver Felipe Massa shared his opinion.
Max Verstappen is an extremely aggressive and carefree person while racing on track. Verstappen has proved why he deserves the three-world championship and more. Felipe Massa reckoned that the Dutchman was a ‘complete driver’. The Dutchman carried everything in terms of speed and mentality of a fighter, unlike Lewis Hamilton.
Max (Verstappen) is a complete driver. He has everything, in terms of speed and mentality. He is a huge fighter. For him, everything revolves around racing, everything else doesn’t interest him.

The current season has also enabled Lando Norris to join the talks of being better than Verstappen. However, Massa wasn’t mincing his words while placing the Dutchman above everyone, even the seven-time world champion Hamilton. The Brazilian believed that the aggressive traits enabled the three-time world champion to be ‘clearly number one’ driver in Formula 1.
Max drives aggressively, on the limit and sometimes a bit over it. Lando Norris has less of that. For me, Max is clearly number one. I personally like his mentality.

Felipe Massa believes his career could’ve advanced further if he was like Max Verstappen
Felipe Massa enjoyed a decent career in Formula 1 and also came extremely close to winning the Drivers’ Championship in the 2008 season. However, looking at Max Verstappen’s career, Massa didn’t hesitate to bring himself down. The 43-year-old claimed that he would’ve advanced further in his career had he been more like Verstappen.

I think I would have come further in my own career if I had more of Max’s mentality. I was sometimes too nice, too kind. I was maybe more like Lando.
Felipe Massa noted
Lewis Hamilton’s impending Ferrari move still raises some highly interesting contingencies in the upcoming seasons. The Briton is believed to take the Italian constructor back to their glory days in Formula 1. Meanwhile, Verstappen continues to focus on his game and keep scoring some highly coveted performances throughout his career.
