Max Verstappen will go down in history as one of the greatest talents if not the greatest talent ever witnessed in Formula 1. On the other hand, Lewis Hamilton enjoyed such dominance in the past but seems a bit behind Verstappen in terms of skills currently. However, despite the differences, both drivers showcase exceptional talent in racing. Ex-F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve didn’t feel similarly about both drivers and insulted Verstappen while speaking highly of Hamilton.
Max Verstappen won four consecutive championships and joined some highly achieved individuals in Formula 1. Lewis Hamilton isn’t only extremely talented in racing in the sport but is also notably the first and only black driver in the pinnacle of motorsport. The seven-time world champion has a lot of supporters due to him rising up the ranks regardless of the massive racism and challenges he faced.
Jacques Villeneuve labeled Hamilton as the ‘biggest driver’ of all time due to his fan following. Villeneuve reckoned that the 39-year-old broke the sport’s mould, and achieved the biggest image which went even beyond Formula 1. Meanwhile, the Canadian didn’t hesitate to claim that removing Verstappen from the sport wouldn’t cause much difference while removing Hamilton would cause the people to care about it.

Jacques Villeneuve labels Ferrari’s signing of Lewis Hamilton as the ‘best move ever’
Lewis Hamilton shocked the world by deeming a move to Ferrari from the 2025 season onwards, ditching Mercedes after 12 years. The Ferrari deal was rumored to be over $430 Million in favor of Hamilton due to his experience and expertise. Jacques Villeneuve believed that this was a fair amount as the Briton was worth ‘millions and millions’. As a result, Maranello made the best move ever by undertaking the 39-year-old.
Certainly, Hamilton has made a lot of positive changes in Formula 1 over the past years that he has raced. However, discounting Verstappen and stripping him of his achievements is not a fair comparison between the two. As such, a massive uproar amongst the fans is evident due to Villeneuve’s comments.
Both Verstappen and Hamilton are extremely well off in their respective aspects and wouldn’t care much about such bizarre comments from people around the world. Anyhow, the 53-year-old must make sure that his comments are not offensive and baseless in the future just to save face from the masses.
