Despite having a bad start to the day, Lando Norris is content with his performance in qualifying. Whatever Norris has missed out on during the sprint race, he made up for it during the main qualifying session. While the Brit took P4, Fernando Alonso ended up ahead of him in third place. 

Norris gained a place during the Shanghai Sprint race thanks to Fernando Alonso who unfortunately had to retire from the race towards the end due to a puncture. But the Spaniard didn’t leave any chance of redemption during the main qualifying.

While talking about the same, Lando Norris had the following to say. 

I am very happy with today. It's normally close with Fernando, sometimes 2 hundredths behind or ahead. There is 2 hundredths in the car.

McLaren secured P6 and P7 during the Sprint race and as for qualifying, they managed fourth and fifth place. Overall a good day for the Papaya team for varied reasons. Moreover, the British driver will have a chance to secure a podium during tomorrow’s 53-lap Chinese GP.

Lewis Hamilton denies pushing Lando Norris off-track 

The seven-time world champion started the Sprint race next to the pole sitter Lando Norris. During the first lap, Norris was seen going off-track and later dropping down to P6. After the lights went out, Lewis Hamilton was on the inside line and held off his position, however, Norris refused to yield and ended up going off-track.

While talking about the incident with the media, Hamilton added the following.

In that scenario, he should have just conceded and just parked up behind me. He probably would have the pace to overtake me because the McLaren is very quick. I know he lost a lot of ground there, but that's racing.

Hamilton took P2 in the Shanghai Sprint race right behind the Red Bull ace, Max Verstappen. The 39-year-old will start the Chinese GP from P18 after a disappointing quali performance, whereas Norris, on the other hand, will be on the second row. several eyes will be on the exploits of both the Brits for varied reasons.
