Mercedes F1 driver, Lewis Hamilton showed class after Barcelona qualifying by congratulating Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, who clocked the first two positions for Sunday. Hamilton finished P3 in what appeared to be a fruitful afternoon for the Brit.
Mercedes has not had a strong start to the 2024 season and was the fourth-fastest team on the grid until the Canadian Grand Prix. But the silver arrows have started showing signs of brilliance across the last two race weekends in terms of pace and balance, which provokes a comeback for the once-dominant team.
George Russell took pole position in Montreal and qualified P4 in the recent qualifying, encasing a strong starting position for the German team for tomorrow. Lewis Hamilton put an end to his qualifying woes after edging out Russell for only the second time this season after an intense Q3.

Mercedes will now look to convert their strong performance into a win and podiums, which they have previously failed to do. The Silver Arrows will be battling it out with the likes of Lando Norris and Max Verstappen, who start in P1 and P2, respectively.
Toto Wolff confirms ‘boundaries being pushed’ in F1 upgrade fight
Mercedes Team Principal, Toto Wolff has revealed that all the teams on the grid have actively started exploiting the most out of their cars in an attempt to bring better upgrades into the season. Mercedes is one of the most improved teams on the grid after their upgrades since the Monaco Grand Prix.
I think everybody's trying to push the boundaries and within the regulations. And I think what we've been able to do over the last three races is particular on the right side, where we believe that we've made a big step and all of the aero bits that came since then, and maybe we've just been very much on the other end of where we should have been on wings and floors and all of that.Toto Wolff via RacingNews365
Toto Wolff has clarified that, over the past few races, teams have developed a deeper understanding of the existing regulations and have begun exercising proper utilization of the norms. The Austrian boss also said that strong developments in the form of floor and front wing upgrades have added to the advantage of the silver arrows over the past two races.
The upcoming Spanish Grand Prix will now witness an exciting competition amongst the top teams on the grid. McLaren, Red Bull, and Mercedes are all in with a shot to triumph in the 66-lap race.
