“Absolutely agree”: Fans back Lewis Hamilton as he advocates for the W Series to be revived after a sudden cancellation
Lewis Hamilton
All through his long Formula One racing career that has lasted for more than a decade, Lewis Hamilton has kept on advocating for social causes that are often overlooked in motorsports. As the only Black racer in a sport that has gained massive international popularity in recent years, Hamilton has time and again talked about the importance of inclusivity in F1.
Now, he has once again raised his voice for inclusion of female racers in the highest league of motorsports. Only a few days ago, it was announced that the W Series, which was being seen as the variant of F1 that is exclusive for women in motorsports, has been cancelled due to the lack of funding. This has dealt a huge blow to the entire female racing community, and Lewis believes it is unfair that the W Series got discontinued and the FIA could not do anything about it.

Fans have acknowledged the way Lewis Hamilton has voiced his concerns about the W Series being cancelled. Many of them seconded his opinion that the FIA should seek to revive the series while others commended him for taking a stand regarding this matter.

“There is not enough representation”: Lewis Hamilton urges the FIA to take steps for continuing the W Series
Organizing a race at the level of Formula 1 is a hugely cost-effective process, and due to the sparse sponsorship deals that the W Series managed to acquire, their Chief Executive Chairman, Bond Muir, announced earlier this month that the last three races of this years have been cancelled. Lewis Hamilton did not agree with this decision, and now he is trying to get the FIA’s support for reviving the W Series.
The #F1 W Series (the all-women single-seater racing championship) ended prematurely due to financial problems.

Here is what the fans had to say about Lewis’ activism:
We need everyone (drivers, teams, staff, fans & sponsors) to raise their voices and accelerate change. This situation makes absolutely no sense in a period of immense popularity for the sport and rising profits.

You helped lay the groundwork for women in sports! I loved to watch your matches as a kid and felt confident that me playing and liking sports wasn't 'weird' because you were out there doing it! Thank you as well!????

Completely agree. Shame on F1 for not helping with supporting W Series, they deserve as much as other formulas, to be racing.

In other news, even after a fantastic display of efforts at the United States Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton failed to achieve a race win in Austin. As there are only two races left in this season, it seems that the seven-time World Champion will have no GP victories this year. But still, it is evident that Lewis is stepping up the game as he showed brilliant skills during the wheel-to-wheel with Max Verstappen in the US GP. So, it is to be seen how the last two races turn out for Hamilton and if he gets a race win in the end.
