Max Verstappen‘s supremacy has been called into question time and again. When the Dutch lion secured his first-ever Formula One title win with a fantastic drive at the season finale of the 2021 season against Lewis Hamilton, a massive part of the F1 community was against the verdict of declaring him the World Champion. In the race, the Red Bull driver who was eyeing his debut Championship victory was pitted against Lewis Hamilton, an F1 veteran who has won 103 races till date. Still, Max’s pure talent prevailed and he defeated his rival from Mercedes after a thrilling race.

Due to the controversy surrounding Max Verstappen’s first-ever World Championship win, several fans believe it was unfair to Hamilton. Sharing their sympathy, Vampire Diaries actress Claire Holt has now said she wants to see Max Verstappen lose in the current World Championship.

While the Abu Dhabi GP from two years ago will go down as one of the most memorable races due to Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton’s wheel-to-wheel competition, it also takes the crown for being arguably the most controversial F1 race in recent history. During the end stage of the Grand Prix, there was a crash as Nicholas Latifi went into the wall, leading to the Race Control calling for a red flag. Then, Stefano Domenicali, the now-ousted Race Director of Formula 1, ordered the lapped cars to unlap themselves, and the entire ordeal caused Verstappen to surpass Lewis Hamilton who was the front-runner at that time.

Like Claire Holt, the Welsh former footballer Gareth Bale has also talked about his distaste towards Max Verstappen’s dominance in F1. He revealed he does not watch the sport anymore because of the controversial end to the Abu Dhabi GP 2021 as he feels Lewis Hamilton was not served justice. In other news, Lewis’ team Mercedes are finding some success with back to back podiums in Spain and Canada after their poor start to this year. Now, the seven-time World Champion’s home race is coming up and it is expected that he will fare well in it.
