The Ferrari F1 team ended its 2023 season in third place in the Constructors Championship. They were in a tight battle with Mercedes but looking forward to next year, Carlos Sainz has made it known that Ferrari’s target has to be to put up a mighty challenge in front of the roaring Red Bulls.
The Austrian outfit has mercilessly annihilated all its rivals since the dawn of the new F1 regulations. Moreover, during the recently concluded campaign, they were operating in almost god mode where they racked up 21 wins out of the possible 22. Despite this, Carlos Sainz is confident that Ferrari will be able to become a nuisance for them in 2024.
While shedding light on the same in detail, The prolific Spaniard has made it clear that his team means serious business during the 2024 campaign. The 29-year-old told RaceFans;
I think it has to be our realistic aim, yes. Will we manage to do it? Only time will tell. But I want the team to be thinking that it is possible because I believe it is. McLaren has been able to do these steps during the season. I’m perfectly confident that Ferrari can do it over a winter break. I trust this team. I trust the capacity that we have back at home to turn things around. There’s still circuits where we are on pole by three-tenths to a Red Bull.
Carlos Sainz was the only non-Red Bull driver to secure a win in 2023
While Carlos Sainz has shown the utmost faith in the ability of the personnel at Ferrari to produce a potent car for 2024, he was the only driver other than Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, who was able to score a Grand Prix in 2023. Sainz was able to triumph at the Singapore Grand Prix.
Sainz has all the skills in his arsenal to become a future world champion at the pinnacle of motor racing. Since making his debut in the sport, he has progressed rapidly and today, is considered as one of the best racers on the current grid. He scored 200 points this year with one victory and three podium finishes.

It has been over a decade since Ferrari was able to produce a title-worthy car and considering this, it would be fascinating to see whether they would be able to do it during the 2024 F1 season. Heading into next year, Red Bull is still the favorite to set the pace during the early few rounds.
