Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris urged to take control over their ‘undercooked’ teams
F1 journalist Tom Clarkson is adamant that Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris must motivate their respective teams.

Charles Leclerc was the runner-up in the 2022 F1 championship. Subsequently, the Monegasque driver was pegged to be the main contender to Max Verstappen this season. Unfortunately, Leclerc has failed to be a match to the Dutchman so far, as multiple issues occur at the Scuderia. Renowned F1 journalist Tom Clarkson believes Lando Norris is in a similar situation to Charles.
Clarkson stated his views on the situation at Ferrari. Tom was unhappy with the way the start of the season had gone for Maranello. He said, “Everything about the first two races makes me feel that Ferrari are a little bit undercooked at the minute.” Moreover, the F1 journalist pointed out the struggles at the Scuderia as well as Charles Leclerc‘s frustration.
He explained, “They’re just not getting anything quite right. The car isn’t quite fast enough. Charles is already expressing a little bit of frustration over the radio as he did in Saudi.” Additionally, Clarkson remarked about Lando Norris being in the same state at McLaren as the Woking-based team fell back in the pecking order this season. Tom continued, “I see Lando’s situation as very similar to Charles Leclerc’s at Ferrari.”

‘Try and help the people around you,’ Clarkson to Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris
Tom Clarkson described the similar career trajectories of Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris as the two drivers made their F1 debut in similar time periods. Although Leclerc has managed to win races for Ferrari, Norris awaits his first victory for the Zak Brown-led McLaren. He stated, “They’ve both been in Formula 1 for roughly the same amount of time, they both want to take the next step. Lando wants to start winning races, Charles wants to start winning World Championships.”
Lastly, Clarkson advised Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc to take a breather and work to help their respective teams. As both Ferrari and McLaren work their way up the F1 grid. Tom concluded, “So what do you do if you’re Charles? What do you do if you’re Lando? I think you’ve just got to knuckle down and try and help motivate the people around you to do everything they can to improve the car.”
Tom Clarkson believes that Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris must take initiative to help their teams from the ground level. Both drivers want to achieve glory in the sport and have deep connections with their respective teams. As such, Leclerc and Norris must emphasize motivating their outfits as the two try to make their way into their maiden F1 world titles in the future.
