The F1 summer break is here and all the drivers are currently enjoying their vacation. Already, Red Bull racer Max Verstappen has been spotted by the paparazzi lounging by the pool on his trip to Italy. And Lewis Hamilton shared a snap from his holidays too. But these times are not going too well for Christian Horner. The British Team Principal recently shared some devastating news about one of his closest ones, and he also included a reference to Sebastian Vettel in his heart-wrenching post.

Red Bull’s Christian Horner might seem like an unbeatable force of nature when he is at work, scheming and plotting to make sure his team always wins. But the Briton has a soft side too, as is evident from the fact that he was the proud ‘dad’ to his beloved pet Margo. Horner and his wife, Geri Halliwell of Spice Girls fame, are huge animal lovers, and they are parents to lots of dogs and horses who live at their estate in Northamptonshire.

But a few days ago, Christian Horner posted a touching tribute to his late dog Margo, who passed away at 11 years of age. The Red Bull team leader wrote in the caption, “Dogs are such a big part of the family and today we unfortunately had to say goodbye to Margo after 11 years. Thank you Margo for being the kindest and gentlest furry friend.” And with it, he posted a story update showing Sebastian Vettel playing with Margo.

Christian Horner is one of the longest-serving Team Principals. And thanks to his able leadership, the Briton has seen several of the Red Bull drivers achieve superstar status in Formula One. Sebastian Vettel has been one of the racing prodigies that Red Bull has produced before Max Verstappen’s meteoric rise in the sport.

Commenting on the exact year when Horner realised the German four-time World Champion has reached another level, he said, “In 2013, he was just on a different level. Those nine consecutive victories were insane, and the level of intensity that he had to deliver that was outstanding.”

Sebastian Vettel retired from Formula One in 2022 after spending the last two years of his F1 career in Aston Martin. The German might make a comeback in an executive role in the sport as rumors have it that he will take up the job of being F1’s Sustainability Manager.
