“Agreed to move on,” Christian Horner reveals his conversation with Max Verstappen’s father amidst public fallout over investigation saga

Christian Horner has been in the news for the wrong reasons in the past few weeks. The Red Bull Team Principal was put under investigation over inappropriate behavior claims by a female employee. The 50-year-old was cleared of all allegations. However, an alleged evidence leak created controversy again. Moreover, Max Verstappen‘s father Jos Verstappen slammed Horner publicly last weekend.
Now, Christian Horner has claimed that he had a conversation with Jos Verstappen after the Bahrain GP. The Briton congratulated the ex-F1 driver for his son’s stellar race victory. Moreover, the two discussed the situation and agreed to move on. Horner highlighted that it was in the best interests of the entire team to completely focus on the 2024 F1 campaign.

Previously, it was reported that Max Verstappen had found himself in the middle of the fallout between his father and Horner. However, the reigning F1 champion tried to focus on racing instead of the tensions behind the scenes. Christian Horner even highlighted that Red Bull had a vested interest in providing the Dutch driver with a car capable of winning the title this season.
Tensions at Red Bull sparked Max Verstappen-Mercedes rumors
Max Verstappen is contracted to Red Bull till the end of 2028. However, Jos Verstappen’s fallout with Horner sparked rumors of a potential move to Mercedes. The ex-F1 driver even met Mercedes’ Toto Wolff during the Bahrain GP. Wolff even hinted at the door being open for the three-time world champion.
Recently, the 26-year-old did not completely rule out such a possibility. Although, the reigning world champion admitted that Red Bull was the best place for him to be at the moment. Nevertheless, Max Verstappen might be inclined to continue at Milton Keynes if things have calmed down between his father and Christian Horner.
Certainly, it will be crucial for Red Bull to have Max Verstappen in its line-up for the foreseeable future. Relations within Milton Keynes could improve in the coming weeks. However, fans would be waiting to see how things pan out between Max Verstappen’s family and Christian Horner in the time to come.
