Some might agree that the rivalry between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen is sure to go down in F1 history as one of the most exciting ones right after that of Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. Such was the fervor of their competition against each other that the Max versus Lewis debate carried the entire F1 2021 season on its shoulders. Throughout the Championship, the two racers had been tangled in a neck-and-neck fight for the golden trophy that is the target of every driver taking part in the king class of motorsports.

Despite what the odds might have said, Max Verstappen proved everyone wrong by going up against a seven-time F1 World Champion to attain his debut title. Ever since then, Lewis Hamilton have failed to rise up to the Dutchman’s level with zero race wins in 2022. Now, eight Grands Prix into the all-new 2023 Championship campaign, the Silver Arrows racer seems to be getting back in form with back-to-back podium finishes in Spain and Canada. This has fired up the fans’ wishes to see Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen in the same team.

Since there is much to be discussed about Lewis’ contract renewal with Mercedes at the end of this year, the speculations have become quite loud. Now, they have reached the ears of Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner. The Briton was asked to comment on the possibility of courting both the F1 talents under his wing at Red Bull Racing. He said, “We would probably have to sell the factory, to be able to pay for both. I hope Lewis will be in Formula 1 for a few more years and there have been occasional talks about joining Red Bull, but lately there haven’t been any.”

Lewis Hamilton’s $55 Million-worth contract, which he signed in 2021, is about to come to an end this year and even now, there is no word about Mercedes keeping him for 2024. The 38-year-old has expressed time and again that he is not thinking of slowing down on his quest for an eighth World Championship anytime soon but he has failed to come to an agreement regarding the terms of his deal with the Stuttgart-based outfit.

In the meantime, there has been some noise in the F1 world about Lewis courting a deal from Scuderia Ferrari. But truth be told, it is only a matter of time before the two parties, Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes, come to a compromise and they agree on the contract terms so that the seven-time World Champion can continue in F1 with Toto Wolff’s team.
