Ever since the announcement of Lewis Hamilton‘s move to Ferrari in 2025, fans have been wondering about the fate of Carlos Sainz. The Spaniard has been on a hot streak this season, and will surely be eyeing a top seat for 2025 and beyond.
Ex-F1 team owner, Eddie Jordan has recently spoken about Carlos Sainz‘s possible future at Aston Martin. On his ‘Formula for Success’ podcast, Jordan shared an insight into how he thinks there is a high possibility of Sainz joining his fellow Spaniard and childhood hero, Fernando Alonso at Aston Martin in 2025.
Carlos has been driving for the Ferrari F1 team since 2021.
Do not be surprised if you see an all-Spanish Aston Martin team next year. I am telling you I believe that if there is not a place in Red Bull for him, he will join Fernando in Aston Martin – that’s what I believe. I have no real hardcore evidence but it’s a gut feeling and very often my gut feel is a bit different to other people’. It does sound nice, it’s very romantic isn’t it?
Eddie Jordan said on the Formula for Success Podcast
The Ex-Jordan team owner believes the Spanish duo of Sainz and Alonso would be a brilliant pairing for Aston Martin. If the number 55 does decide to move to the Silverstone-based team, then several eyes will be on Lance Stroll‘s future in F1.
Eddie Jordan’s take on Carlos Sainz’s legendary recovery
On the Formula For Sucess podcast, Eddie Jordan also gave his thoughts on Carlos Sainz‘s quick recovery from appendicitis surgery and his brilliant triumph at the Australian Grand Prix. The Irishman termed the quick recovery ‘Legendary.’
Jordan commended the Spaniard for his motivation to win and succeed at all costs. Moreover, he was also impressed by Sainz’s prowess to control the 58-lap Albert Park race calmly once Max Verstappen retired from the race due to brake duct issues.
This is actually a legendary story where the guy gets out of hospital [and] has a major operation. Most doctors would tell you what happened is impossible but to go through a gruelling… I did see him get out of the car and yes, he was very careful how he got out of the car. For sure, he was in pain during that race. I think the determination inside the head and what his father would have said to him when he went through that moment to get into the race.
Eddie Jordan further added on the Formula for Success Podcast
Jordan seems very impressed by the 29-year-old’s grit and motivation to outperform his Ferrari teammate, Charles Leclerc, throughout the Australian GP weekend. If Carlos Sainz can continue performing the way he’s done so far this season, he will then definitely be on the radar of multiple team principals. Only time will tell where the number 55 eventually ends up.
