Lewis Hamilton is one of the greatest drivers to have gotten behind the wheel of a F1 car and has also been one of the most empathetic persons one will ever come across. We all know the incredible amount of talent that he possesses but we have also seen a person who is concerned about what’s happening in the society and has taken the onus upon himself to bring about a change.

The Brit understands the influence that he has on his fans across the globe and feels that it’s his duty to make people more aware about the social evils. Racism is definitely one of them and this is something that the seven time world champion continues to face despite being in the sport for 15 years. The latest incident involves Nelson Piquet who used a racist remark against Lewis Hamilton.

This had made his fans very angry and asked the FIA to take necessary action against the three time world champion. The governing body quick leaped to Lewis Hamilton’s defence and condemned the comments made by ex Formula 1 driver. After a lot of deliberation, it’s been reported that F1 is considering to ban Nelson Piquet for life from the paddock.

A lot of drivers like Charles Leclerc and Esteban Ocon have also shown their support to Lewis Hamilton. Esteban Ocon said, “All racists or discriminatory language has absolutely no part in our sport and our society. Enough is enough.”

“I’ve worked and spent time with Lewis over the years and know the kind of person he is. Always genuine and respectful with everyone around him.”

“He has done so much for F1, on and off the track, and we are proud to have him at the forefront of our fight for further diversity and including in motorsport.”

“I stand with Lewis and his continued efforts to make the sport we love a better place for all.”

It’s imperative for the FIA to take strict action against such acts so that no one even dares to say something of this sort and we all can improve as a society.
