“Hunting for that elusive championship” – Fans react as Carlos Sainz allegedly goes hunting with the Prince of Oettingen-Spielberg

Prince Franz Albrecht, Christian Abello and Carlos Sainz

Carlos Sainz is a Spanish Formula 1 driver. Carlos currently drives for Scuderia Ferrari in the sport. Albeit, in 2022, Sainz struggled against teammate Charles Leclerc, falling behind the Monegasque in the championship. However, as the on-coming season approaches, the Spaniard would be looking to turn the tide in his favor. But before the hectic F1 season starts, Carlos has been having some fun times in the winter break.

Carlos Sainz was recently spotted along with Franz Albrecht, the Prince of Oettingen-Spielberg. Franz posted a picture of himself, Sainz and Christian Abello on Instagram. This post depicted the trio in what one might refer to as ‘hunting clothes.’ Prince Albrecht is an avid hunter and has often flaunted his skills on social media. Although it is not yet confirmed if the three went for a hunt but it is definitely a possibility.

Prince Franz wrote the caption, “Good times – Viva España,” a nod to the great time the trio shared as well as the Prince’s praise for Carlos Sainz. Sainz made his home country of Spain proud after becoming a Grand Prix winner in 2022. As such, Franz wrote, “Long Live Spain” in Spanish. Certainly, F1 drivers are known to be in the circles of powerful personalities and Carlos has found some friends in the Spanish hierarchy. Sainz recently came back from the Dakar Rally after supporting his father, Carlos Sainz Sr.

Fans not appreciative of Carlos Sainz’s alleged hunting trip

Carlos Sainz is usually seen as an animal lover

After this picture was posted on Reddit, fans were not pleased. Many users took to the comments section to express their disgust at seeing Carlos Sainz supposedly hunting animals for sport. One user stated, “Yet another reason not to like this guy.” While another fan commented, “Well that’s Sainz added to my list of drivers that I dislike.” Thus, it is indeed clear that many F1 fans believe that hunting animals is not a practice that should be continued.

On the other hand, a couple of fans did joke about this post. One fan asked if Carlos Sainz was hunting for the F1 world championship. The fan replied, “Hunting for that elusive championship.” Previously, Sainz expressed his desire to fight for the F1 championship in 2023. Another user remarked on the attire of this trio and wondered if they were rather going to solve a mystery. Thus the user said, “Hunting? Looks like they are solving a Murder Mystery.”

Of course, we are not certain if Carlos Sainz did go for a hunt along with Prince Albrecht but we cannot deny it either. Sainz is an F1 driver and as such, a role model for millions of fans globally. Thus, even if Carlos hunts in his private time, it certainly would be a great disappointment as the Spaniard indirectly promotes animal cruelty. Hence, we hope that Carlos Sainz did not actually go hunting and that perhaps it was just a simple get-together.
