The Official F1 account has recently released a list, ranking the top 5 races of the 2022 season as voted by the fans. The list ranks the Hungarian Grand Prix as the 5th best with 4 percent of the votes. It ranks the Belgian Grand Prix in 4th with 5 percent of the votes. Third place goes to the Bahrain Grand Prix with 8 percent of the votes.

Finally, the Brazilian Grand Prix and the British Grand Prix take second and first place with 21% and 34% of the votes respectively. While the list is voted for by the fans, F1 twitter certainly does not agree with the results. Unsurprisingly, many have expressed their displeasure with the rankings.

While some argue that the Brazilian and British Grand Prix hold top honors because of amazing performances by fan favorites such as Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, others are disappointed to not find the United States Grand Prix mentioned on the list. Especially considering the fact that fans got to witness everything from first-lap crashes to last-lap overtakes and an exceptional recovery from Fernando Alonso after almost taking off due to a collision with Lance Stroll.

Fans disappointed at no mention of Austin

F1 fans on Twitter were quick to point out that the Belgian Grand Prix was nowhere near as exciting and thrilling as perhaps the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas. “USA was by far better than Belgium and Hungary” commented a fan on F1’s post. “How is Austin not even on this list???” reacted another.

Austin missing out can be attributed to the F1 community not entirely accepting the USA as an F1 nation, since they have their own version – Nascar. However, the talking point – a majority of the fans vociferously expressed their dislike towards Spa.

While seemingly no one is satisfied with the list, one should remember that it was voted for by the fans. If there is one thing uniting all of F1 Twitter at the moment, it is the shared belief that Belgium does not deserve to be on the list. It will be interesting to see what the bottom five voted races of the season would be.
