The driver for Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso, has expressed his desire to stay in Formula One beyond 40 in the past. But because of his age, he was thinking about endings god F1 journey, but following physicals and tryouts over winter break, he became certain about racing.

The Spaniard stated at the Aston Martin AMR24 launch last month that he would first have to determine if he wanted to continue driving after this season, and only then would he choose which team to drive for. With Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari in 2025, and many drivers not having fixed contracts for season 2025, the trajectory of Alonso’s decision might change. With Toto Wolff making list of fine candidates to take over Mercedes, Alonso stated perhaps he is one of them.

Yeah, because obviously I don't have any contract at the moment. So it's better to be on those lists than on the other series list, or being on the retirement list! But I will make the decision to commit for the future in the next few weeks, or few races. First of all, I need to speak with myself, I need to make a decision. If I personally want to commit for the future.

While Alonso is still contemplating his decision to stay as an F1 driver, he also mentioned to be able to do that he will also need to sacrifice a lot of things. But he also stated that he puts his whole heart into working, he won’t stay as an F1 driver for fun, if chooses to work, he will give his 100%. But that decision has to be his, whether he chooses to stay or not.
