Fernando Alonso, the former 2-time F1 world champion, has been named Public Figure of the Year by the viral social media platform, TikTok. Alonso joined the platform only this year and has been very active on it since the start of the 2023 season of the pinnacle of motor racing.

Fernando Alonso is known for being extremely cheeky within the F1 paddock. He is every now and then seen playing pranks on his fellow teammates and the other F1 personnel and is undoubtedly one of the most upbeat personalities on the current grid.

He decided to showcase his creative side on TikTok this year and the fans have absolutely loved it. For his efforts, he was recently recognized by TikTok and its community and for that, Alonso has thanked them. While he was not present at TikTok’s official gala, he conveyed his message to them.

While Fernando Alonso has thanked the TikTok community for seeing him as the worthy winner of their Public Figure of the Year award, he has a big job on his hands during this week’s Abu Dhabi GP. Because of McLaren’s woes in Las Vegas, Aston Martin has the chance to nick fourth place away from them.

In the 2023 Constructors Championship, McLaren is only 11 points ahead of Alonso and Co. with one race remaining. Considering this fact, if the Aston Martin duo of Alonso and Lance Stroll are able to put in a stellar effort in Abu Dhabi, they could get the jump on McLaren by the end of the race.

However, McLaren is going to give their best in order to stop it from happening. Lando Norris and Co. will get their elbows out in case the situation demands during this week’s race. The final event of the 2023 F1 season will be a nail-biting affair from the point of view of McLaren and Aston Martin.
