Ferrari reveals shocking details about its future in Formula 1 and WEC following entirely contrasting results in both
Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna assures commitment to Formula One and Endurance racing for the future

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna
Ferrari, after taking a 50-year hiatus, is back competing in the 2023 World Endurance Championship in their 499P car. Both their hypercars have yielded decent results in the first three races. The CEO of the Scuderia Benedetto Vigna, ahead of the iconic 24 hours of Le Mans, has affirmed his commitment to endurance and F1.
“Racing has been, it is, it will be in the DNA of our company,” said Vigna. However, after being questioned about Ferrari’s underwhelming performance in the WEC so far Vigna did not make much of it. “There are even more stressful things than this!” He answered. Similarities can be drawn in Ferrari’s WEC and F1 campaigns. The Ferrari 499P has 3 podiums and one pole position in Sebring in three races. However, the pace demonstrated by Ferrari this Le Mans weekend has been promising.
Qualifying is now concluded for Le Mans 2023, with the top 8 cars booking their spot for hyperbole. Both the Ferrari hypercars finished 1-2 in the opening qualifying session of Le Mans, beating the Toyota’s by 2-tenths of a second. The Ferraris of Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen led the first qualifying session. James Calado, former Formula One driver Antonio Giovinazzi and Alessandro Pier Guidi followed their teammates.
Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna sends a message to its poorly performing F1 team

Despite bringing in updates for the Spanish Grand Prix, Ferrari still could not compete against the pace of the Red Bulls and Mercedes. Carlos Sainz, who started P2 in his home race, could not help but get overtaken and missed out on an easy podium. Ferrari F1 has only one podium and no wins in the 2023 season.
Things did not get any better when his teammate Charles Leclerc, could not get into Q2 and was classified outside the points. However, the Italian motorsport company’s CEO had a few words of motivation for its Formula One team. “Sometimes you slip four stories and can’t see the end. But with work, with passion, with skills and with your heart you eventually get back up,” he said. “It applies to life, as it does to F1: it’s not easy.” He further continued.
Vigna believes that the F1 team will have an upturn in form and return to winning. With the Ferrari 499P leading the opening qualifying session, the Italian team will have heavy expectations to excel in the 100th year of motorsport’s most prestigious race.
