Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring

After the British Grand Prix, it’s time for the Austrian Grand Prix, round number 11 of the 2022 season.  England gave us arguably the best race of the season till now, With Carlos Sainz grabbing his first victory of the season and the career, giving Ferrari their third one this season, we also witnessed amazing wheel-to-wheel fights and five different teams fighting for P2 by the end of the race. It was a complete package with crashes, drama, fights and a new face on the top of the podium.

The Austrian Grand Prix has been a part of the season calendar since 2014, it has seen multiple winners. 2016 world champion Nico Rosberg has won 2 times in the Austrian land, 2014 and 2015. 2016 Austrian Grand Prix was won by Lewis Hamilton, the year he lost the world championship to his lead cum rival Nico.

2017 Austria was captured by the new Mercedes Driver, Valtteri Bottas, giving Mercedes their 4 consecutive wins on the Red Bull Ring. In 2018 and 2019, the Dutch Lion Max Verstappen managed to give Red Bull their home win consecutively. 2020 was the peak of Mercedes dominated era, they won both the Austrian and Styrian Grand Prix, with Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton.

Last season with the title fight between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, Red Bull was captured by the home town team, not once but twice with Max Verstappen on the top.
