“It has always been in the regulations”: Jenson Button comments on the FIA’s ruling against drivers wearing jewellery in the car

If consistently poor performance in the last few races, slow pace of the race car, disturbing rumors about retirement and a teammate who outscores him on many occasions is not trouble enough for Lewis Hamilton, then the British driver has one for issue to sort out in this new season of Formula 1 2022.
The seven-time World Champion is considered as one of the best racers in the to history of this sport but right now, his fans believe the Briton has hit the lowest in his career. The latest season of F1 seems to have something going on against Hamilton as he has now got the FIA disapproving his way of wearing many ornaments and jewellery while he is racing.
Former World Champion of 2009, Jenson Button, is now commenting on the FIA’s decision to restrict Hamilton from wearing jewellery to the races, citing some rules that have always been there in the F1 regulations list, but have never been enforced as strictly as they are now.

Lewis Hamilton has been considered one of the most fashionable personalities not only in Formula 1, but in the entire world of Sports. Hamilton has worn his jewellery like the neck bands and the charm bracelets since long, and he has never ran into any problem for it. But now, the FIA is raising the issue and Hamilton has not taken to it kindly.
The FIA have said that they will be doing a thorough check on the drivers to find out if any of them are wearing any pieces of jewellery or even piercings while they get into their cars. Jenson Button has said that this rule had been there since a long time but he does find it strange that they are enforcing it only now.
Jenson Button said, “This isn’t something that is new. It has always been in the regulations – don’t wear underpants and don’t wear piercings or metal on your body. I don’t think they have pushed the regulation very hard and now they are, which is very strange, why they are doing that suddenly.”
