The recently-concluded 2022 edition of the Formula 1 Championship proved to be a season to forget for the seven-time World title-winner Lewis Hamilton. While the Briton has achieved the feat of equalling motorsports legend Michael Schumacher‘s seven F1 World Championship victories, it seems like his record-setting eighth title is eluding him time and time again. He came tantalizingly close to it in the 2021 Grand Finale in Abu Dhabi, he was far from getting to the top this year.

At the very start of the 2022 season, Lewis Hamilton’s team, Mercedes, appeared to have a major problem as they could not find the answer to their porpoising troubles. This stayed with the German outfit till the very end of the season as they finally managed to find some speed in the W13 at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix when George Russell did them proud by getting their first and only race win of the season. But Lewis Hamilton was not that lucky as 2022 proved to be his only winless season ever since debuting in F1 in 2007.

But all the woes of the past season are behind the Briton as he has confirmed that he will make a go at winning the World Championship once again in the upcoming 2023 campaign. Mercedes’ Toto Wolff has also said the team is trying their best to get back to their winning ways, and with the powerful duo of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, it seems only good things are awaiting the Stuttgart-based outfit next year.

With the new season to look forward to, Mercedes racer Lewis Hamilton is currently hard at work with his team to make sure he gets the best shot at winning his eighth World Championship title. Speaking on what makes him excited for 2023, he said, “I’m definitely excited for 2023. A new year to be better, a new year to climb, keep fighting and unite even more. And it’s another chance to fight for a World Championship.”

Last year brought abysmal results to Lewis Hamilton as he finished it with a P6 position in the World Championship standings. The last time Lewis Hamilton got a rank out of the top 3 was almost a decade ago when he was ranked fourth in the 2013 F1 World Championship. And this year was his worst Championship finish of all time as he has never gotten a position below P5 in the standings before. Now it only remains to be seen if he manages to turn the tables next season to get back to the top, like he deserves to.
