The British Grand Prix saw a poor finish from the reigning F1 World Champion as well as current Championship leader Max Verstappen as his Red Bull RB-18 simply did not have enough power and pace to compete for the top spot of the grid that Max was aiming for. While the Dutchman soared to a brilliant finish at the start of the race by overtaking pole-sitter Carlos Sainz, he had to restart from P2 once again after the Red Flag was announced for Zhou Guanyu‘s crash.

In the second restart, Max Verstappen was behind Carlos Sainz and he seemed to have lost power as he could not move past the Ferrari at all. And then, a tyre puncture was detected on his car, for which he went into the pits. When Max Verstappen was out again, he complained that his car was losing power, and instantly, he was down in the eighth position after being overtaken by the likes of Fernando Alonso and Lando Norris.

There was clearly something amiss with Max Verstappen’s car on the Main Race day on Sunday as the fierce Dutchman had to settle for a seventh position finish in the race, after a slose battle with Haas racer Mick Schumacher at the last leg of the race. The Red Bull supremo revealed the damage that Verstappen’s car succumbed to was no better than a huge shark attack.

Max Verstappen’s car was apparently damaged due to a piece of sharpnel from an Alpha Tauri car that came out from the car during the massive Turn 1 incident that made Zhou Guanyu and Alex Albon retire from the race.

While describing the damage that Max Verstappen’s car sustained at Silverstone, Christian Horner said, “It has gone in like a shark.

He also said, “It has wedged itself, almost like a blockage. It got stuck under there so a fairly modified floor for the rest of the race. He lost an enormous amount of downforce.”
