The current era of Formula 1 drivers contains a great mix of experienced drivers as well as new and efficient drivers on the grid. F1 veterans such as Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso are still present on the grid and achieving great results. Additionally, fairly new drivers like Max Verstappen and Lando Norris are also competing well with the former world champions of the sport.
Hence, the performance gap between the two generations of drivers isn’t much as there is the occasional battle between the majority of the drivers. However, every driver is significantly different from one another in many aspects like driving style, mindset, etc. Anyhow, many drivers also share a great significance in terms of a winning mindset, as the majority of the drivers want to score the best results possible.
Now, Hamilton has pondered over the common points between the veteran Fernando Alonso, the reigning world champion Max Verstappen, and himself. The Briton highlighted that all three had a common trait that all were extremely competitive. Additionally, the seven-time world champion asserted that the drivers went to extreme levels to achieve the best results possible.
I think Max and Fernando have one thing in common with me: all three of us are hugely competitive. We go to the extreme to achieve what we want.Hamilton told formule1.nl.
Lewis Hamilton desperate for the win after two winless seasons
The former world champion hasn’t been able to score a victory in the past two seasons in Formula 1. The regulation changes of 2022 have severely affected Mercedes’ performance and as a result, Brackley has only managed to score one victory under their belt. Hence, Hamilton needs to desperately work on his form to return to his winning ways.
Regardless of the winless stint from the Briton, James Allison shared a strong belief that Hamilton still had what it took to win races. Hence, a Lewis Hamilton victory wasn’t far-fetched according to the Briton. Additionally, the 39-year-old has also addressed the victory drought and shared his desperation to win the races as soon as possible.
Mercedes needs to display their best craftsman skills with the W15 to facilitate Hamilton to win races once again. Brackley had displayed optimism over the development of the challenger and hence the car could potentially compete at the forefront. Hence, time will tell about the great developments that Mercedes made ahead of the 2024 season of Formula 1.
