Lewis Hamilton shoots down WEIRD tweet as fan claims he wants to ‘sell his organs’ to watch F1 race in South Africa

With his considerable number of World Records, seven F1 Championship wins, and the charisma of a global sports star, Lewis Hamilton is no stranger to massive popularity. The Briton has his own fanbase who call themselves ‘Team LH’ taking inspiration from the initials of the 38-year-old. But recently, on the social media platform X, Lewis Hamilton was faced with an impossible request from a fan–and his short, curt reply was hilarious.

It all started when Hamilton posted a message to his 8.1 million fans on X, saying “Enjoyed the weekend off, how’s everyone?” To this, there were countless responses, but one of them stuck out like a sore thumb. A fan who goes by the username @Farinho_10 said (as reported by Express, “Come to South Africa and I will sell my organs to go to the Kyalami GP, on God.” Thus, this follower practically begged Lewis Hamilton to bring F1 to his native country for the Kyalami GP and even offered to sell his organs to go watch it.

Alarmed at the fan’s oversincerity, Lewis simply responded, “Okay, don’t do that.” This hilariously short text to someone planning to sell their organs became a source of multiple memes on social media. Unfortunately, the Kyalami GP does not look ready to be hosting a Formula 1 race yet. Hamilton has been vocal about reviving the race in South Africa for quite some time, but the Grand Prix made no appearance on the 2024 F1 calendar.

Lewis Hamilton‘s roots are in South Africa, and he was also seen going on a trip there mid-season last year. He has advocated for restarting the Kyalami Grand Prix which used to take place in the country in the 1990s. In fact, it was also rumored that Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of F1 Management had flown down to Kyalami for signing contracts to start a Grand Prix there. But the race was not seen in the calendar for the 2024 F1 season.

On the other hand, next year’s massive calendar will feature some interesting races as the total count of Grands Prix will be extended to 24 in a year. Chinese GP is set to make a comeback next season, and Las Vegas GP has also been reprised even though it has not even been held yet in the current year. With lots of possibilities in place for the upcoming 2024 Championship, it will be seen whether Max Verstappen manages to extend his run and equal his title count to Sebastian Vettel, or if his team Red Bull succumb to the efforts of the other teams that are planning to surpass them.
