To say that Max Verstappen is living the best life the Formula One world has to offer would be an understatement. The Dutch lion, hailing from a lineage that has established itself as one of the biggest racing families in the history of motorsports, Max has made his father Jos Verstappen proud with his achievements. Ever since his win as a young challenger over the seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton, he has been unstoppable. And in 2023, he has equalled Sebastian Vettel‘s record of 9 consecutive F1 race wins.

Having achieved so much in such a young age, Max Verstappen’s motivation to stay in Formula One has been called into question. The racer just returned from a three-week-long summer break where he spent some quality time with his family as well as his girlfriend Kelly Piquet and her daughter Penelope. Thus, it is evident that he enjoys life when he is away from the racetracks. And while speaking to the media about his plans for his future in Formula 1 previously, he mentioned that he might stop racing once his current contract with Red Bull ends in 2028.

Now, Max’s biggest rival Lewis Hamilton has recently renewed his deal with Mercedes for two more years. As he is 38 right now, many people thought he would choose to exit F1 while others thought he would shift to some other team in search of an eighth World Championship. But silencing all those rumors, he has renewed his Mercedes contract. And following this, Max Verstappen seems to have changed his opinions on when it would be a good time to retire in F1. He said, “I think retiring at 28 for me is probably a bit too soon.

Max Verstappen has been keeping up an impressive record with his nine back-to-back Formula 1 race wins. The record for this achievement was previously held by another Red Bull racer Sebastian Vettel during his dominance in the 2013 season. Now, Max has already equalled Seb’s count, and there are nine races left for this year. The Dutch lion revealed at one of his interviews that Sebastian Vettel texted him after he won his fifth consecutive race and he was sure Max will break his record.

On the other hand, Max Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Perez is not performing to the best of his abilities. At the recently-held Dutch GP, each of Max’s laps was 1 second faster than Checo’s at one point in time. This gave rise to several speculations about Red Bull giving the Mexican a limited version of the RB-19 while Verstappen’s car is much more powerful. While all these rumors have no basis till now, it remains to be seen if they turn out to be true.
