Max Verstappen joins the ‘Liked by Pierre Gasly’ Bandwagon after latest social media post

While most would say Formula 1 is a sport for the bold ones, as it can get severely competitive and fiercely dangerous at times–but the true fans know that F1 can also be regarded as one of the most “chill” kind of sports where the racers often like to indulge in some good ol’ jokes to maintain a friendly rapport amongst themselves. And the F1 fans’ communities, which dot the entire web landscape, have come up with hilarious memes of their own, which would make anyone hysterical with laughter.

A recent meme that has been doing the rounds on various online platforms is the “liked by Pierre Gasly” phenomenon that has taken the internet by storm. As it happens, AlphaTauri racer Pierre Gasly is very active on Instagram and the 26-year-old leaves “likes” on every F1-related post that he comes across on the social networking site. Pierre Gasly had been promoted to Red Bull Racing from their sister team, Scuderia Toro Rosso, in 2019, to partner with Max Verstappen, following the high-profile exit of Daniel Ricciardo. While Gasly was then compelled to join Toro Rosso once again, he has always remained friendly with his former teammate–Max.

In a recent Instagram post that Max Verstappen uploaded on his social media wall following his 25th Grand Prix victory at the Azerbaijan GP last week, fans spotted Pierre Gasly in his AlphaTauri overalls, posing beside Max Verstappen, and both the young racers were imitating the “like” button of Instagram with their thumbs. As a caption for the perfect photo, Max Verstappen wrote, “Liked by Pierre Gasly.“, which is an obvious reference to the meme that started out because of Gasly’s repeated “likes” on all Instagram posts related to Formula 1.
