Max Verstappen rejoices winning pole position at ‘tricky and unexpected’ Australian GP weekend
Max Verstappen secured pole position at the Australian GP by an extremely fine margin.

Max Verstappen, the reigning world champion, has done it again!! He has secured pole position for tomorrow’s Australian Grand Prix. The whole qualifying session was a tricky affair but despite all the challenges, the Dutchman did what he does best.
Max Verstappen stuck his RB20 in pole position in Q3 with a scintillating time of 1.15.913. His closest rival proved Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, who was able to secure second place on the grid with a time of 1.16.185, Verstappen’s teammate, Sergio Perez ended up third.
The 2024 season is two rounds with the Australian weekend currently in progression. The way Verstappen has been performing, he has just picked up from where he left at the end of the 2023 season in Abu Dhabi.
He was flawless from start to finish during the Australian GP qualifying session.

The 26-year-old despite securing pole position for tomorrow’s race is vary of the threat that Ferrrai pose in Melbourne. Sainz missed out on pole by a very small margin and the SF-24 has so far looked quite quick heading into tomorrow’s race.
Max Verstappen is ‘happy’ at Red Bull despite the controversies
While Max Verstappen has admitted that the Australian GP could prove to be quite challenging, he has during the ongoing weekend, made it known that he is happy at Red Bull. In recent times, several rumors have liked verstappen with a move away from the Austrain team.
Red Bull has been surrounded by various kind of controversies since the start of the 2024 F1 season.

The 26-year-old just like last year, has been performing at extremely high level. Despite the controversies surrounding Red Bull, he is focused on doing his job and driving the RB20 as fast as possible. He won the 2023 Australian GP in thrilling fashion and keeping in view the chaos that ensued last year, tomorrow’s race will prove to be a fascinating watch. However, despite all the factors, Verstappen will be the one going into race as the absolute favorite.
