F1 since its inception, has seen several top-notch racing drivers. The sport has been around since the 1950s but fast-forwarding to today, it has changed immensely and so have the driving styles of the aggressive drivers. McLaren boss, Andrea Stella feels that the top three drivers currently in the sport are Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, and, Fernando Alonso.

Max Verstappen has been dominating the pinnacle of motor racing since 2022 and his name was simply a no-brainer. But when it comes to the other two, Andrea Stella has interestingly snubbed the former 7-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton in favor of his McLaren driver, Lando Norris, and Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso.

Stella has been associated with F1 for a long time and on the basis of what he has experienced so far in his career, he feels that Verstappen, Norris, and Alonso are the top three drivers.

The Italian has made it quite clear that he does not see Hamilton as a top 3 F1 driver. While Verstappen and Norris are very young, Alonso, on the other hand, is currently 42 years old.

McLaren views Lando Norris as the driver to lead them into the future

While Andrea Stella has surprisingly snubbed Lewis Hamilton out of his top 3 F1 drivers list, he and the McLaren team firmly believe that Lando Norris is their man to lead them to glory. They have put all their eggs into Norris’s basket and are hopeful that his teammate, Oscar Piastri will complement him perfectly in the upcoming years.

Norris joined the papaya team in 2019 and since then, has gone on to become an extremely potent F1 driver. He was very impressive behind the wheel of the MCL60 during the 2023 F1 season and this was one of the main reasons why McLaren was able to get the jump on Aston Martin in the Constructors standings.

Lando Norris is only 24 years old, and considering this has many years ahead of him. He is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars on the modern F1 grid and in the upcoming years, he is going to see several teams lining up in front of his door to sign for them. His current McLaren deal will run out at the end of 2025.
