Michael Schumacher’s son IMPLORES Formula 1 bosses for a second chance, claims ‘they haven’t seen the real Mick yet’

Being the son of a legendary Formula One racer from ’90s whose record number of World Championship wins still persists to this day, is not easy. But Mick Schumacher has managed to live up to the name of his family and do their legacy justice when he captured the Formula 2 title in 2020 and grabbed a ticket to enter F1. When Haas took up the young German for a two-year-long contract to drive alongside Nikita Mazepin, the fans were certain that a new talent was in the making at the American team.

But unfortunately, Mick’s career saw more downs than ups in the king class of motorsports. The now 24-year-old could only amass a total of 12 Championship points in the 44 races that he took part in, with no podium finishes at all. Owing to the upsetting statistics of Mick’s time in Formula 1, the Haas Team Principal Guenther Steiner decided to drop him in favor of another German, Nico Hulkenberg. And thus, the junior Schumacher was left with massive expectations to live up to, but no regular racing seat at the end of last year.

Finally, Toto Wolff arrived as a savior as he offered Mick Schumacher a reserve driver position at Mercedes. Rumors were roiling when Lewis Hamilton’s contract renewal with the Stuttgart outfit was being delayed that Mick Schumacher might step in as George Russell’s partner at Mercedes in the future seasons. But now, Hamilton is staying till 2025, and Mick has sent out a message to the Team Principals for hiring him. He said, “I’m a racing driver. All I want to do is win. You haven’t seen the real Mick yet.

Just as Michael Schumacher had looked out for Sebastian Vettel during his formative years in F1, the four-time World Champion also did the same for Michael’s son Mick Schumacher.
But now, while Vettel has retired from the sport at 35 and Mick Schumacher is left with no regular driving seat at any of the teams, the former Red Bull driver refuses to give up hope. He even said that the next two years are crucial for Mick to build his career, and there are three teams–Williams, Alfa Romeo, and Alpha Tauri–still left to finalize their line-ups for next year. So, all hope is not lost for Mick.

On the other hand, there is a chance that Sebastian Vettel will be back in Formula One in a racing role, as claimed by Helmut Marko. But other reports have also suggested that he might take up the offer of becoming F1’s new Sustainability Manager given his passion for climate activism. While nothing has been finalized yet, the German is still keeping shut about his future steps now that he is away from the race track to focus on his personal life.
