Red Bull’s quest for perfection could face hurdles at Canadian GP, claims Helmut Marko
Helmut Marko claims that Red Bull could win every race this year, but the Canadian GP poses a challenge to the ‘dream’

Helmut Marko
Red Bull has commanded every race in the 2023 season so far. The Milton Keynes team has won all seven races so far and shows no signs of stopping. No team until now has been able to challenge the Red Bulls despite bringing updates. Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko believes that the team could win every race this season, but he isn’t underestimating other teams.
“It’s not an exaggeration to say that we go into every race as favourites,” the Austrian. He also acknowledged the luck factor involved in achieving that feat. “However, you can’t afford any bad luck. With 15 races still to go, anything can happen quickly,” he further continued. While Red Bull will be eyeing to break McLaren’s record of losing only a single race throughout the season, Marko states that both drivers must be competitive.
Helmut Marko, however, claims that the other teams can catch up to Red Bull as soon as the Canadian Grand Prix next week. “We could face challenges as early as next week in Montreal,” said the Austrian. He also said that both cars need to be winning races for Red Bull to achieve their dream. “The probability of realising this dream only increases if both cars are capable of winning,” Marko concluded.

Can Red Bull continue their rampant form at the Canadian GP?

Red Bull has emerged victorious in every race this F1 season. Out of 7 races, five victories are secured by Max Verstappen and the other two by Sergio Perez. Despite other teams bringing heavy upgrades to their car, no team has successfully matched the Red Bulls in pace.
Due to Red Bull’s electric straight-line speed, the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix will surely favor the RB19. However, Mercedes, after scrapping their zero-pod design, seems to have gained speed. At the Spanish Grand Prix, both the Silver Arrows drivers finished on the podium, giving the team their best result this year. However, in the same race, Verstappen clinched a grand slam and finished the race 20 seconds ahead of Lewis Hamilton in P2.
As Max Verstappen continues dominating the sport, his teammate Sergio Perez cannot catch up to the Dutchman. After going pointless in Monaco and finishing behind the Mercedes in Barcelona, the Mexican’s title hopes are sliding away from him.
