“They will be in the mix next year,” Romain Grosjean is convinced Ferrari will get back to their winning ways in 2023

The 2022 Formula 1 season has ended quite a long time ago, and all the drivers and their teams are getting ready for all the challenges that lie ahead of them. In this year, Ferrari entered the first Grand Prix of the season with huge expectations to live up to after a disastrous 2020 finish, and they got the top two places in the standings in Bahrain. But unfortunately, the team from Maranello failed to maintain their top position throughout the rest of the season as they were surpassed by the mighty drivers of Red Bull in the end.

While Ferrari may have had to settle for the second place in F1 2022, they are going to bring in some massive changes for next year’s Championship campaign. The executives of the Italian outfit have already changed the leadership of the team with Frederic Vasseur replacing Mattia Binotto as Ferrari’s Team Principal. And they have vowed to put forth their best tactics to make sure the Tifosis see the Constructors’ Championship trophy come home at the end of 2023.

Even though Ferrari is the oldest and the most successful team in Formula 1 history, it has been a painstakingly long time since the Tifosis could rejoice their favorite team winning the World Championship. But with the recent improvements that Ferrari have incorporated in their team strategy, things are starting to look good for them. And former F1 racer Romain Grosjean is convinced that the Scuderia will deliver on their promises in the upcoming season.

Romain Grosjean indicates that Charles Leclerc would be his Championship favorite for next year

In an end-of-the-year interview with Motorsport Magazine, ex-Formula 1 racer Romain Grosjean talked about his predictions for the coming season. He said, “I think Ferrari’s going to learn from this year and I think they will be in the mix next year.” Grosjean was last seen on the F1 racetracks in 2020, when he succumbed to a huge accident at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Frenchman has since been seen in IndyCar.

According to Grosjean, Charles Leclerc has what it takes to get the World Championship win next year over Max Verstappen, but for that, he has to correct his mistakes which cost him the top place thi year. On the Monegasque’s chances in 2023, Romain Grosjean said, “Charles has been doing a great job. He made a few mistakes, but it’s always when you try to catch up that you make mistakes. If you’re at the front and things are very smooth, it’s kind of easier than when you’re trying to catch up.”

All the Tifosis are hoping and praying to God that Romain Grosjean’s words come true and Ferrari indeed manage to snatch the World Championship by ending Red Bull’s recent dominion in the field. Now it only remains to be seen if things work out for the Maranello outfit in the end, and their new Team Principal Frederic Vasseur is able to bring home a World Championship in the very first year of his tenure at the Scuderia.
