Sebastian Vettel has retired from Formula 1. The German had one of the most successful careers in the sport’s history with four world championships, 53 Grand Prix wins and 57 pole positions. As Vettel’s time came to an end, the whole paddock wished the 35-year-old well, fans poured out tears as they saw their hero put up his racing gloves, and of course who could have felt it more than Vettel’s father Norbert Vettel himself.

Before the start of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Norbert spoke on a German pre-show, he was asked how he felt about his son’s retirement from the sport and this being the last race of the 35-year-old’s career, Sebastian’s father said, “Final race for now,” proving to us that just like the fans and drivers, even he wants his son to come back to Formula 1. Norbert then was overwhelmed with emotions and broke down as he saw his son take to the track one last time.
