For seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton, the current season of Formula 1 2022 has been nothing short of a complete nightmare. The Briton, who has always been in the top 5 in the World Drivers’ Championship Standings, is currently at the seventh position with a mere 28 points while the WDC leader Charles Leclerc of Ferrari has got 86 points to his name.
Ever since the season opener in Bahrain, Mercedes’ W13 has done an unimpressive job at competing with its rivals. As far as the F1 pundits’ opinions go, it is quite apparent that Ferrari’s SF-75 is the car to watch out for this season, and Red Bull has also improved their RB-18 to a great extent after their initial races were spoiled due to reliability issues. But as the situation seems to be right now, Lewis Hamilton is no longer a front-runner in the Drivers’ Championship race, as he has been for the past few years.

Right from the beginning of 2014, Hamilton has been a consistent F1 driver, and he has fought for the title every single year. While Lewis Hamilton was embroiled in a neck-to-neck fight with Max Verstappen last season for winning the Championship, he is 31 points behind his former rival.

Lewis Hamilton is not new to the game of Formula 1, and the 37-year-old knows there are ups and downs in this sport. While he has enjoyed his own share of highs with seven World Championship titles to his name, the Briton has shown that he can deal with criticism as well.
While Imola had shown Lewis Hamilton at his lowest form ever, the F1 veteran has vowed that he will narrow the gap between him and the frontrunners in the Drivers’ Championship charts by working on his faults. While speaking about his current performance, Lewis Hamilton said, “There are people that watch and say I’ve never had a bad car, and I can assure you that I have.”
He continued, “2009’s car was very, very far off, the worst car that I’ve had. This car currently is not far off that experience.”
