“They all came to meet F1’s only superstar, Lewis Hamilton,” Fans react as Michael Jordan, Serena Williams headline celebrity attendance at Miami GP
Formula 1 has always been a very gilded sort of a sport–available only to the elite and the wealthy. For this reason, the races at Formula 1 have seldom seen the attendance of many celebrities as they are not much popularised amongst the common people. But times are changing, and so is Motorsports.
Now, F1 has become a grand affair with the who’s-who of Hollywood attending the Miami Grand Prix and partying in the city of Miami right before our favourite racers battle it out for the race win. During the weekend of the first-ever Miami Grand Prix at the Miami International Autodrome Circuit, fans caught glimpses of former First Lady Michelle Obama, Michael Jordan, David Beckham, LeBron James, Tom Brady, Serena Williams, and many other big names who flew down to the Magic City to attend round 5 of the Formula 1 World Championship.
Now, Lewis Hamilton is, for sure, one of the biggest superstars in Formula 1, who has way more credits to his name than just being a race car driver. Hamilton is a noted philanthropist, a designer, and has connections with nearly half of Hollywood. So, unsurprisingly, most of these celebrities were in Miami to support their dear friend Lewis Hamilton. This has made all the fans of the #44 driver excited, and they have tweeted to express how their favourite driver is the reason why Miami GP is seeing so many celebrities at the event.

Right before the Free Practice session started off on Friday, all the motorsport enthusiasts went into a frenzy as they spotted former First Lady Michelle Obama watching the FP session from the Mercedes garage. Moments later, pictures of Obama embracing her friend Lewis Hamilton started making rounds all over the internet, and it was clear that Michelle Obama was there to wish the Mercedes driver good luck.
Not only Michelle, but NBA legend Michael Jordan also appeared at the Miami Grand Prix and added to the Superstar quotient of the event, in support of his friend Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton is one of the most successful and highest paid athletes in the world, so it is no surprise that so many of his well-wishers have come to meet him in Miami.
