Toto Wolff has been the team principal of the Silver Arrows for over a decade, leading the team to eight Constructors’ Championships in a row and seven Drivers’ Championships also consecutively. Mercedes has won 116 races under the Austrian, a record for any team principal.
Lewis Hamilton and Wolff have worked together since Hamilton joined the team in 2013, and have attained incredible success together. Now, as Mercedes undergoes a tough period, Wolff has explained why he remains with the Brackley-based outfit, saying the upcoming W15 could see Hamilton finally get his redemption and beat Red Bull.

I'm staying at Mercedes to beat Red Bull with Lewis Hamilton. Those who have driven in the simulator have told us that the 2024 car [W15] doesn't look like the car of the last two years. If we give Hamilton a good car that he can rely on, he can get back in front of everyone.Toto Wolff said via gazzato.it.
The W15 is projected to be competitive due to major changes as compared to the unsuccessful W14. Hamilton has expressed faith in the new vehicle, as has Wolff himself, and Mercedes could potentially go back to their winning ways.
Toto Wolff explains why he stayed as Mercedes team principal
Toto Wolff extended his time as Mercedes team principal, a responsibility he claims along with his position as CEO of the team. The 52-year-old has been the team principal since he joined Mercedes in 2013, a year after Michael Schumacher retired from the squad.

Wolff recently signed a new deal to prolong his contract for three more years, and explained why he did. Wolff explained that as a shareholder himself, he will remain in the position only as long as he believes he is the best fit for the role, and has people around to advise him if the case is not so.
I think the most important thing between the three of us is that we trust each other. At the end of the day, as a shareholder myself, I want the best return on investment. And the best return on investment is winning. I’m not going to try to hang on to a position that I think somebody is going to do better than me. I make sure that I have people around who can tell me otherwise.Toto Wolff said, as reported by PlanetF1
Wolff is not the only person to extend his contract. George Russell also has a multi-year contract with the team, as does Lewis Hamilton who will race into his 40s alongside longtime friend and rival Fernando Alonso. After a winless season in 2023, Mercedes will be hoping for better luck in the upcoming campaign.
